Is it true? Well the question became very relevant when Trump was elected president of USA and I knew it was clearly a mistake When Mr Trump decalerd himself a candidate at a time when all the Republicam Party leaders were too weak and all of them felt intimidated with Trump who was not even a strong Republican member and then the republican party took up full support for him All he had in his bag was dollars and big talks with tall claims without any substance He was a classical Megalomaniac and the republicans understood that too and yet went all out for him He got enough Senators and was declared the winner even though the Democratic candidate had recieved more votes
According to the constitution Trump was a duely elected President of USA and it only added to this mans megalomania It was all wrong. The subsequent behavior of Trump being more a dictator's proved the mistake and January 6th (2921) events clinched it America realized its mistake a bit too late The constitution and democracy principles were shatered and Republican party suffered embarrassment and got injured reputation as I said in Urdu:
Hum to doobay hem sanam tum ko bhi lay doobaingay
This exposes problems with election process which theoretically appears sound but VOTES are THE problem. Large corporations, Millionairs and some other factors SUPPORT a candidate with money and other factors so the elected candidate is obliged to HELP the SUPPORTERS In fact these spporters actually "buy" their advantages. I will call it bribe or quid pro quo or whatever name you give it. This is a clear drawback, Loophole or whatever you may call it
A poor man with low income/assets or position can never be successful. More recently following the example of Trump a youngman used a series of lies and false claims to get elected He has nothing in his personal qualities except regular habit of lies. Having been successsful seems to indicate lies and being talkative is all you need to ba asuccessful politition. (Trump'example however indicates that taking such lies to extreme can bring the downfall also.)
We may find more loopholes if we try analysing the mechanisms in practice but you get some Idea what I am trying to say
