I have seen twice in a row a write-up about Islamic view of Easter in the on-line journal "PATHEOS"
I guess it is mainly run by Ahmadiyya Muslims and thats what every writer on this subject writes.
I thought I will make a comment on the story but there were 96 comments to which I was unable to add
There is a distinct difference here on this subject between Ahmadiyya teachings/understanding and ordinary Islam. I guess this teaching makes the Ahmadi Muslims closer to Christians so they "preach" THAT type of Islam maybe to attract Christians to Islam.
Last year the writer did not mention aya 157-158 of sura Nisa but this time the writer does mention it and yet says the same thing that
Muslims believe Jesus Christ did not die on the Cross" and clearly fails to mention that he was NOT CRUCIFIED
The aya clearly says
وما قتلوہ وما صلبوہ ولاکن شبّہ لھم
"But they killed him not NOR CRUCIFIED him but so it was made to appear to them"
It makes me feel that in-spite of Quranic clear teaching that he was NOT CRUCIFIED the Ahmadies continue to 'believe" he was crucified. This is one of some other basic beliefs that are different from Islamic teachings
