Portable adultery

I know sperm banks and ova banks have been around for many years and every now and again you see advertisements, like, for 'sale' or 'wanted' (in addition to babies being on sale under covert terminology). May be they serve some useful purpose for some "needy" individuals or couples and I would support childless married couples, in tapping all available bio- technologies of today, remaining within the moral bounderies. However a couple getting a sperm from a "bank" to get his wife impregnated is clearly adultry (What I am calling "portable") and I feel it is not only unethical but immoral. I see lot of programs on TV which would have been unthinkable in older days.
Would you believe that a remarkable athlete ( cant give you examples but you can stretch your imagination) can make 75 dollars for (donation of) each "Sample" of his spermatic fluid and 'TV' calculated for me, they can make 900 dollars a month. There is demand in the "market". Some "Single Parents" go to extreme lengths to try various athletes, like football icons or Gymnastics super performers and make up a 'family' of such extra-ordinary children (what a mother). You can pick and choose what you like, even a "Ph. D." Intellectually brilliant type" of "sperm" if so desired. I am sorry if it sounds abhorring to you but I am talking about an open TV program., not something theoretical or imaginary
Of course it is not necessary that the expected gene will definitely "work" but that is another question. I remember a joke:
Some beauty asked Bertrand Russell, "Sir would it not be nice if we have a child, he will have my beautiful body and have your brain for intelligence?"
He quietly replied, "What if he has your brain and my body?" I used to say a 'hindi' dialogue:
"hey, Bhagwan, kaisa jamana aa giya hay, phat jaay yeh dharti aur sama jaaoun man iss main"
Islam considers the lineage to be most important for family and society and therefore its dictates are clear; Qur'an tells us that "Zaid bin Muhammad" was wrong (adopted as son) although he (Zaid bin Haritha) continued under the prophet's patronage (S. Al-Ahzaab, Aya 40). and "mothers are those that give birth to the child". (S. Mujadila, aya 2) Please look up in the Tafsir books for more info. I shall write some of the things I have learnt in Islamic Medical Association (Of North America) on this subject more, to bring you upto date. Now that I have started this I may as well do the job properly.

Though I consider myself very 'liberal' but its hard for me to accept the idea of 'sperm' or 'ova' on sale !!

Exactly,---no matter how much liberal or advanced or secular whatever you call(and I am not that conservative either) it is dard to buy.
That may be one of the reasons why young women with not so strong morals swarm around the athletes so much. I am sure many athletes are good people and young women who chase them are also good people and I dont see any harm as that is this society's "norm".
As I said, I'll make some more scientific comments from Islamic point of view IA.

I really appreciate that you shed light on very hot and intriguing issue. Though in Eastern countries like Pakistani the practice is not in place but in future it is expected that we'v to face such kind of things and its better to debate these issues and atleast Muslims should be aware that we are going to look into these issues as similar is issue of cloning related matters.
I really appreciate your effort in bringing awareness to people on these matters
Regards,
Ayaz
