Well my dear friends you may have seen such dramatic effects on some recently developed TV ad for peanuts but this is unique nut indeed to give us lot of things including pleasure. I am (annoyingly) trying to tell you that these beautiful nutritious nuts have been given a lowly position by those who say "peanuts" about something small or less important or less in quantity etc. I do not hide my annoyance on this attribute given to my favorite nuts
Of course you may be familiar with my own love for peanuts and it goes back to my earliest memories in childhood. There was a small peanut shop just right in front of the main gate of my primary school ( and believe it or not there is still something similar there when I visited in 2006). I liked them then and would love to get a fistful from Kakkaji who was older but was still trying to finish his own schooling. He would "work" (making biRi) and make some money so he could spend half a paisa (it did work in those days) called "dhaila" and would get enough peanuts (warm) to share a "fistful" with me, yes.
At my retirement from VA hospital in 2003, I did get a special (large) bag of peanuts from someone who was familiar with my tastes. When I started working in Cape Fear Valley Hospital in 1973 and during the time I was busy working in Radiology doing various procedures like Myelogram Arteriogram or even air-encephalogram etc. I would take short breaks with peanut-bars and one Radiographer working with me would make peanut-brittle specially for me - oh- that was good, yes my good old days, but I knew the real PEANUT-POWER right from mychildhood
