Departure Lounge

A dear friend of mine returning from Pakistan, after he saw his ailing elderly mother, was waiting in the departure lounge of Dubai, to board the plane for Chicago. Sitting for the call eased off into 'slumber'. All the passangers gone and he makes no move.
The security/police were called and they found he had passed away so quietly. Inna Lillah-i-wa Inna ilaihi rajioon. They contacted his family.
Interesting, that he met his two daughters, performed Umrah along with his wife and told her that he wishes to visit his mother in Pakistan and then he will return to Chicago. His wife let him go on his own.

These days we in the 'elder' group often say we are already in the 'departure lounge' for the "call". It seems so ironic.

Sunday Journal-Man enemy of Man

"O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes, THAT YE MAY KNOW EACHOTHER" (Al-Qur'an)
A message that stands clear of all violence and supports mutual brotherhood.
"Bani Adam a'za-i-yak deeger and (Adam's children are like limbs of each other)
Keh der aafrinash zi-yak jauher and (For they are, in creation, from one/same substance)
Cho uzway ba-dard aaworad roozgar (if one limb gets hurting)
diger uzw-ha ra namanad qarar" (All other limbs become restless)
Thus wrote the great persian philosopher poet S'adi.
All men are created equal. Different colors, languages, geographic and such differences etc. are not meant to engender enmity and war but only so one can be recognised from the other. Yet man is given to self-aggrandisement, pomposity and arrogance with propensity to be disdainful to others. Islamic teachings of respect for life are flouted openly today and without remorse.
Despite claims to the civilisation being advanced and tolerant, man remains the biggest enemy of man. There is no fear of life in the jungle today but great fear of possibly losing your life in the city, in the town, in public places where there are "children of Adam".
