First post

This is my first post.
Sept. 25, 06 Now comes the real one as I was silent for these days.
Please bear with me. I am past 70 and have a lot of audiovisual problems plus the arthritis in small joints of my hand especially the first (Thumb) metacarpophalaneal joint which caused me to retire early at this age; yes you guessed it right, I am a physician.
That starts my introduction. I have a lot of stories to tell about my experiences as a physician, though my ethics do not allow me to tell on my patients, many of whom may be dead by now, but some are exceptional such as the unbeaten wrestling champion of the world called "Gama" in Pakistan, who died in 1963. (Champion from 1907 till-48)
I had the experience in three different countries, three different continents, Pakistan (Asia), England (Europ) and USA (The north American continent). Today I want to say something that will interest everybody about my experience in North Carolina. Part of my growing up was in a village in Punjab (Pakistani part). Villages in Punjab are mainly agricultural. So I was very familir with the farmers culture, their way of talking, their frankand friendly demeaner, easy to talk to and easy to listen to. A farmer is always eager to interest you in what he grows, tomatoes, corn, wheat, tobacco anything and would take pride in the quality of what he has grown in the fields.
I started practice in NC and many of my rural patients seemed so "Panjabi" to me that only there was the language difference otherwise the same things I had experienced with them in my country I was experiencing here in NC. There was a clear and striking resemblance in more ways than I can describe. The human species, I thought has lot more mutuality and similitude than just the anatomical structure though in practice it stresses more on the dissimilarities.
