Salat-al-Eid and Khutba

Everybody has known that Eid salat is two raka and the prophet SAWS prayed no salah before or after these two raka's yet I see some people come to the place of prayer (for Eid) and offer two raka before sitting down just like they would do it in a masjid.
One thing however remains unchanged-the Khuba is AFTER the two raka's. (and of course no adhan and no Iqama)
I am sure you have seen it  always happening that people start leaving after the salat and do not listen to khutba even though it is emphasized that khutba is part of salat. I saw that even in Makkah when I stayed during last ashara in Haram Makka and offered Eid prayer there. (that was an experience too)
It started happening pretty early because Marwan Bin Hakam when he was praying he tried to change it to Khutba before Salat because he said people leave without listening to it. (But he was prevented from doing so)
I feel the prophet SAWS knew it and so kept it to one khutba (not resting between two as he always did on Juma Khutba). Some Imams make two kutbas on Eid also But I never saw that in Pakistan. I think prophet was making it easy for us to offer salat-el-Eid and wanted to keep his instructions loose for the Khuba of Eid (purposely?). People might have done that during his time but there is no evidence for it. Maybe I am wrong but considering his concern that he always expressed for making it easy for his Ummah it seems logical to think in those terms. Just think of the Taraweeh prayers how he made it "uncompulsory" for us and yet I see this Ummah flocking to the masajid for these prayers a lot more than they would do for Isha prayers which are Fardh. Amazing human behavior.
